Brazil
Vaporaqui.net is Brazil's largest journalistic project on tobacco harm reduction, covering safer nicotine products such as vaping and nicotine pouches. It serves as an independent, technical, and science based source for the public, media, and policymakers.
About
Vaporaqui.net was born from a personal battle. Its founder, Alexandro Lucian, smoked for decades, at times more than three packs a day. He tried to quit repeatedly, through every method available, and eventually gave up trying. Then he discovered vaping. That discovery changed the course of his life. He quit smoking and began studying nicotine and tobacco harm reduction in depth, becoming a specialized researcher in the field. Out of that transformation, Vaporaqui.net was created: a non profit, evidence based journalism project built to give other smokers the same chance he had. Today the project works to replicate that outcome at scale. Vaporaqui.net translates scientific research, reports news, and monitors Brazil's regulatory process, offering consumers, media, and policymakers a technical and pragmatic source of information on safer nicotine products such as vaping and nicotine pouches. Every article the project publishes carries the same goal that started it all: reducing the disease and death caused by smoking, one informed decision at a time.
Mission
To reduce the disease and death caused by smoking, improve the quality of life of smokers and former smokers, and promote public health policies grounded in scientific evidence, all through the application of the harm reduction strategy for safer nicotine products.
