I was smoking alot of cigarettes everyday to reduce stress and anxiety so wasn't that easy to quit. Cause I believed it helped me not me anxious. I was able to stop for 3 months when I got anxious again and started. Thats when I switched over to vaping and has helped alot better than the cigarettes.
I used to smoke cigarettes every day, but I chose progress over perfection and reduced, one healthier breath at a time.
My name is Eugene van Dyk. I started smoking when I was 15 years old. Nobody pressured me into it. In fact, my first cigarette was completely my own decision. I kept it a secret from my friends and family for at least a year before anyone knew I smoked. Over time, smoking became a major part of my life. I typically smoked around 20 cigarettes a day. Many days it was closer to 30, and at parties I could easily smoke 40 cigarettes in a single day. The effects on my health happened so gradually that I hardly noticed them. I developed a persistent cough. At first it was only in the mornings. Later it became a constant need to clear my throat. The habit became so normal that I wasn't even aware I was doing it anymore. After smoking for 17 years, I bought my first vape. My intention was not to quit smoking. I actually told myself that I enjoyed smoking too much and would never stop. The vape was simply meant to be something I could use in addition to cigarettes. Then something unexpected happened. About a week later, I realized I hadn't had a cigarette since buying the vape. I hadn't planned it. It just happened naturally. Within a couple of weeks, I noticed I was snoring less. The constant cough started improving. The urge to clear my throat became less frequent. I can't tell you exactly how long it took for those symptoms to disappear completely, but today, 12 years later, they are gone. I have now been smoke-free for more than 12 years and vape exclusively. Today I am fitter than I have been at any other stage of my life. While nobody can know exactly what would have happened had I continued smoking, I genuinely believe that switching from cigarettes to vaping has had a significant positive impact on my health and has likely extended my life. What concerns me is that many smokers never give vaping a chance because they believe it is the same as smoking. My own experience has been very different. For me, vaping achieved something that I never intended or expected: it replaced a 17-year cigarette habit that I once believed I would carry for the rest of my life.
depending on tobacco wasnt a choice made intelligently. it was a choice made by social status, television, books and the likes of advertising in sports etc. even the Dr. smoked in the consultation rooms. By the time I realized I had a problem quitting was the toughest decision ever made. It wasnt because it was a hobby, but a real addiction. It ruined my life to the point where I couldn't wake up without lighting up. once I quit for 2-months and then I got the smell of that Winston, walked up to that fella and asked him to light me one aswell. Over 20years of struggling to quit later I was reintroduced to vaping by a client that asked me why I go out to smoke every other 10 minutes. so here I am tobacco free for the past 9 years with no intention of smoking again. I value my life more now that I was able to quit by means of an alternative. and that alternative is vaping nicotine instead of combustible tobacco.
I smoked for years. Cigarettes were part of my life. Smokers are not stupid and I knew they were bad for me. Four years ago I switched to Vaping-nicotine free. I don't believe vaping is good for you but in my opinion vaping is a thousand times better. My family no longer complain, the dogs don't move away, the car, house, curtains, my clothes no longer smell like an ashtray! No stained teeth nor smelling bins. The strange thing is many smokers want to quit but I didn't really want to. Kurt Yeo spoke to me about vaping and honestly it was a practical middle ground for me. I converted in one day! Im not claiming vaping is risk free. Nobody honestly does and common sense says something repeatedly caries risk. But I can compare one thing with certainty. How I feel then to how I feel now. I sleep better. My surroundings are cleaner. People around me are happier especially my husband and grandchildren. This is not medical advice simply a former Smokers experience.
I smoked for more than 20 years and tried to quit several times with no success until I decided to completely switch to vaping which I successfully did in June 2016 and never looked back to the cigarettes. I weaned myself off nicotine very progressively and vaped nicotine free for about 4 years. I completely quit this year and I've never felt better before. I'm so grateful and so proud to have won the battle against nicotine addiction.
I switched to vaping in May 2021, it took me about a month to completely put the tobacco cigarettes down. Since then I have not touched a tobacco cigarette. At first I was on 50mg Nic salts, but have brought that down to 20mg Nic salts the last 18 months. A 60ml bottle now lasts me the whole month.
I feel way better now not no need for tobacco products.
Smoked only, then smoked and vaped together for about 7 years. Before going for a hip replacement, the dr said they wouldn't till I quit smoking for 6 weeks. After my own research, I found that the risk of infection is 7 times greater if smoking. Could even lead to amputation. So then dropped the smokes completely and vaping only for about 5 years. I vape HEAVILY (120ml 3mg a week min) and feels like I've never touched a cigarette in my life. No more wheezing, coughing, nothing.
I was given a mod with frosteez in it one afternoon to try and the rest is pretty much history, I did have a relapse back to cigarettes for a while but then made the switch back to vaping and haven't looked back since
